Regent Dental Laboratories Limited is a well established company specialising in all types of laboratory assisted restoration, including implants.
The original company, then called Regent Dental Mechanics, was incorporated in 1934 and operated from Regent Street opposite the Claudius Ash London headquarters. During the Second World War, the business was destroyed by a bomb and the Managing Director, Cyril Grout, restarted the business in Harpenden, Hertfordshire.
When Mr. Grout retired in 1965, Ken Miles took over and the company prospered. Finally, after several relocations, the company settled into our current, purpose-built 2,000sqft laboratory in Leighton Buzzard.
In 1985, Regent Dental were the first commercial laboratory in this country to produce a Nobel Biocare Branemark implant prosthesis and today, with over 25 years experience in the implant world, we pride ourselves in working with many implant systems including Straumann, Astra, Ankylos, Bio Horizons and Biomet 3i. We are an 'all service' laboratory working mainly for the private sector, with a heavy emphasis on crown and bridgework, manufacturing our own laboratory made temporary crowns and intermediate gold acrylic crowns, before moving onto full-arch, bonded porcelain reconstruction to complete bite raising and re-alignment techniques. Regent Dental is a DAMAS registered laboratory and hold 'Platinum Approved' status for Straumann along with being 'LAVA Accredited' by 3M.
Our present small, but dedicated, team of technicians were all originally apprenticed and trained by Regent Dental Laboratories and are all GDC Registered (as we do not employ process workers), as well as all being members of 'The Dental Technologists Association'. Each technician has personal indemnity insurance cover and between them they have a total of 236 years service with Regent Dental.
Barry Cayless-Smith is now the current Managing Director and has over 40 years experience as a dental technician. Together, with his team of loyal technicians and staff, make Regent Dental the highly successful laboratory we are today, offering a personal and friendly service to all our clients.
